How the Charlotte-Based Empowering Fathers Program Strengthens Families With Support From the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation

The Urban League of Central Carolinas’ Empowering Fathers Program demonstrates that investing in fathers holistically can strengthen and stabilize families. For dads facing challenges that can make family responsibilities harder to navigate, including being a non-custodial parent, the program offers practical guidance and a trusted place to turn.

Over the past year, the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation has partnered with the Urban League of Central Carolinas in this work with fathers and families. A Foundation grant funds services that include workforce, housing, and mental health resources, as well as guidance in navigating the child support system and strengthening co-parenting relationships.

Fathers in the program connect with others who share similar experiences and learn practical tools they can use as parents and providers.
